Media Archive

Working on a media assessment at this week. We have to make an archive ( any form within A1 size) for all the drawings we did in the first half of this semester. My archive will be based on the idea of pop-up cards. Each of the 6 weeks’ drawings will be filed into a folding card with some parts designed to pop-up when opened. It’s due next Monday which I will possibly post up some photos during the weekend.

We have also got given out a new design brief today. Its a 6 weeks project broken up into 1-3-2 weeks small course work. The main theme is about skin and bones architecturally. This week we will be doing researches on existing architectural projects.

Surprisingly, my work from last project “Fort Lane” is selected by my tutor to exhibit with other outstanding works from other tutor groups. I thought Adrian’s alleyway would be selected because it received a lot of compliment from the critique section while mine was criticised on the lack of evidence showing how the space would be occupied. I believe Padma was impressed by my researches and my thinking processes. :D

19 on the 19th

Haven’t been updating this blog for almost a week. Obviously there will be too much to write about in one single entry. So I will focus on the boldest event here, which is my 19th birthday. It has been the best birthday I have ever had in my friend. Although it was only a cake, a song, a crowd of people, a gift, and some laughs, but when these are all came from friends that I only met 2 weeks ago, it touches my heart deeply. The cake made me full. Celebrated with my family when I got home at 5 with another really nice cake. Still waiting for photos from friends.

I have also showed Ross, my media tutor my progress of my one to one plan drawing project. He liked my idea of using light trail to draw my line passively. Tomorrow, we will be at Auckland Domain, presenting our ‘thing’ that can lift a person off the ground. So stay tune!

Body Parts Connection

Our second design project is to be in a group of 3. Then each person will be allocated with a body part. As a group, we have to construct something that connects these three body parts through any representation we want. Our group constructed a structure that connects nose, spine and little toe together. Our idea was to explore the change in distance and position between the nose and toe with regards to the spine in relation to growth and ageing. More photos will be added later.
